Founded in 1860, the Cathedral and John Connon School blends traditional values with modern educational practices to provide top-tier education to over 1,960 students. It has its origins as a choir school which was created to provide choristers for St Thomas’s Cathedral ‘The Mother Church of the Diocese of Bombay’. The school fosters a strong community through four Houses: Palmer, Barham, Wilson, Savage and offers diverse cultural, sporting, and extracurricular activities, including debates, sports, and global competitions. Emphasizing experiential learning, skill-based education, and critical thinking, Cathedral equips students to adapt to a changing world and become global citizens with a strong local understanding. With a focus on mental health, personalized support, and innovative teaching methods, the school ensures every student receives the guidance needed. With state-of-the-art facilities and a legacy of over 165 years, it continues to shape confident, compassionate, and globally-minded students, grounded in the British Public-School traditional system. The School has 6 buildings: Pre-Primary Section, Infant School, Junior School, Middle School, Senior School, and High School.
Melding traditional values into a contemporary, real-world context, the Cathedral and John Connon School aims to provide an education to young minds that will allow them to: learn how to learn, understand how to adapt to the changing world around them, become global citizens who are also fortified with local understanding, develop a sense of international mindedness and cherish the individuality of man as well as the commonality of mankind.
